A large oil tanker collided with a support pillar of the Sinamalé Bridge tonight amid strong currents and rough seas.
Social media footage shows the vessel drifting toward the structure before striking it, with its two masts appearing to break and sustain damage in the collision.
The full extent of the damage to the bridge and tanker remains unknown. The MNDF Coast Guard is on scene conducting operations and monitoring the situation.
