Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed an agreement with Alia Investment to establish a Yamaha Service Centre at the Kulhudhufushi City Port. The agreement was formalised at a ceremony held at MPL headquarters, with CEO Mohamed Rishwan signing on behalf of MPL and Managing Director Alau Ali representing Alia.

During the signing, MPL CEO Rishwan highlighted that the partnership goes beyond establishing the service centre, encompassing plans to enhance logistics and expand maritime connectivity in line with the development of the Kulhudhufushi dockyard. He reaffirmed MPL’s commitment to improving services and boosting revenue, noting the rising demand for maritime solutions across the regions.

Alia’s Managing Director, Alau Ali, described the project as the beginning of a wider collaboration between the two companies. He emphasised that Alia, with its established service centres across the country, looks forward to further expanding technical services in partnership with MPL.

The new Yamaha Service Centre is expected to be operational within six months, providing much-needed support and maintenance facilities to the northern maritime community.
