
MSS has announced its acquisition of brand new containers to increase its equipment inventory.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO), Mr Husen Amru Mohamed Rashad tweeted that Maldives State Shipping, a Subsidiary of STO, has acquired a thousand brand-new containers and that it will assist importers with quick turnaround and reduced costs. He also states that MSS targets to increase the number of ships in their fleet and become a full-fledged international shipping Company.
MSS started operating its own container vessel last November. MSS Galena is a 680 TEU capacity vessel with two cranes of 60 tons SWL and with 60 reefer plugs.
With their ambition to become a full-fledged shipping company, MSS had confirmed that they have recently purchased two more ships, a bulk carrier of 43,000 t DWT and a container vessel of 680teus. According to MSS, the bulk carrier will be delivered to them by April 2022 and Container vessel will be delivered to them by mid-June this year.
