Maldives Ports Limited Unveils Rebranding

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) announced its long-awaited rebranding initiative, marking a significant milestone for the company. With 36 years of operation under its belt, MPL has taken a bold step to revitalize its corporate identity and align with its modernized services.

Formerly known as the Maldives Ports Authority (MPA), MPL underwent corporatization in 2008. However, the company has retained its original logo for the past 27 years. In a bid to adapt to the changing landscape and maintain a fresh, contemporary image, MPL unveiled its new logo and branding on July 14, 2023, during the company’s annual staff night held at the FAM stadium.

A notable aspect of the rebranding is the introduction of new uniforms for various port operations. Previously, employees involved in port operations had to wear separate vests, but now they will be adorned in uniforms with “high visibility” strands, enhancing safety and visual identification within the port premises.

During the rebranding ceremony, MPL’s CEO, Shahid Ali, emphasized that the company’s rebranding efforts were part of a broader initiative to modernize its services. He highlighted MPL’s substantial progress in digitalizing various operations and services, a development that has allowed the company to keep pace with industry advancements.

Furthermore, Ali underscored the substantial efforts undertaken over the past four years to strengthen MPL’s operations and enhance corporate governance. By prioritizing efficiency, transparency, and accountability, the company has positioned itself as a reliable and trusted partner in the maritime sector.
