The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade announced that the full rollout of ‘Tradian’, the Maldives’ first National Single Window platform, has been postponed until further notice. The system aims to streamline and unify all trade-related processes, including permit applications, documentation, and payment procedures, into one centralised online portal. Authorities have not specified a new timeline for the transition.
The system was officially launched on April 20. The full transition to use Tradian over the other government portals was scheduled for 1st January.
Maldives Customs Service will migrate several of its services to the Tradian platform, including the registration of shipping agents and freight forwarders, registration of foreign-going vessels, submission of vessel arrival details (ETA/ETD), and sea cargo manifest submissions
In the meantime, the Ministry confirmed that all import and export-related services will remain accessible through existing channels. An official launch date will be announced once the platform is fully prepared to take over its intended functions, with the public to be notified accordingly.
