Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has confirmed the restart of crucial development ventures in Ihavandhippolhu and L. Gaadhoo, initially launched during former President Yameen’s term. These projects aim to boost economic growth in these areas.
The Minister shared this update on X (formerly Twitter) and hinted at the recommencement of the Male’ commercial port project, promising more details soon.
The i-Havan initiative, introduced in 2014 by President Yameen, aims to create a trade and business center in Haa Alif atoll. It’s part of a broader development plan for the region.
During Yameen’s tenure, plans were unveiled for a transhipment port in Gaadhoo, which involved relocating residents to Funadhoo island in the atoll.
Additionally, efforts are underway to relocate Male’ commercial port to Gulhifalhu, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure.
