Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has ordered the removal of vessels obstructing development projects in the Thilafushi lagoon.
In an announcement, HDC said the order applies to anchored vessels as well as boats that have been completely drawn ashore within the lagoon area. HDC has also posted pictures of the vessels slated for removal from the lagoon.
Vessel owners have been given seven days, starting from May 11, to clear the area. HDC stated that vessels not removed within the given period will be dealt with under the policy on abandoned vessels in the Thilafushi lagoon.
